Reflections of Childhood...


I have been reading and following quite a few blogs and one of the things that stands out in some, is the writers say the “allowed” the violence to happen to them. This really irks me! If you say that, I question whether or not you truly understand how domestic violence happens and if you realize truly what happened to you.

Domestic violence is the systematic breakdown of another person. The abuser breaks down the other person’s self-esteem, circle of friends, family unit, finances, household, and their sense of well-being, just to name a few. It typically is not- you meet the abuser, go on a date, and he beats the crap out of you or hits you.
